The country music star has filmed a television spot supporting an anti-dogfighting bill that is moving through the Georgia Legislature. In the ad, Nelson looks into the camera while “Georgia on My Mind” plays in the background. “Dogfighting is against the law in Georgia, but the laws are so weak, the beautiful state of Georgia has become a haven for dogfighters from around the country,” he says.

Now, I have nothing against dog fighting. I think it is an excellent indicator of a crass brutal mind. I choose not to associate myself with such people. And, regard them with contempt.

But there is something very wrong with our priorities. And, in the holy day season, it just seems so much more obvious.

The Hollywood teen “star” announces her “pregnancy”. What a icon of values. At least she’s “keeping” the baby.

The Right to Life seems an appropriate seasonal topic today. It’s a tough issue. As a society, we are confused. Our laws seem to reflect a wonton disregard for the Constitutional principle. Our ethics seems to allow us to ignore the children after they are born and certainly they are on their own after 18. Our morals seem to change to suit the situation.

You can’t be “pro-life” unless you “do” something. You can’t be “pro-life” unless you realize that it’s more than just stopping abortion. You can’t be “pro-life” and vote for the pandering politician.

At this time in the season, hopefully, open hearts will be softened to realize just how counterproductive abortion is. And, that each life has value.

Maybe then we can get to “solving” the easy problem. Somehow, I don’t’ think we solve problems by force of law. We solve them by changing “hearts and minds” one by one.

I’ve renovated for the new year. Simpler, cleaner, and – of course – less work for me! Since I received ZERO input, I’ve made it easier on my self.  It was ime to house clean. I really like the daily news wire approach. No thought on my part, find it and post it. Optimizes my time spent on the doing and less on the formatting. Hope everyone else does as well.

Illegal Immigrant Rescues Boy in Desert

PHOENIX (AP) – A 9-year-old boy looking for help after his mother crashed their van in the southern Arizona desert was rescued by a man entering the U.S. illegally, who stayed with him until help arrived the next day, an official said.

The 45-year-old woman, who eventually died while awaiting help, had been driving on a U.S. Forest Service road in a remote area just north of the Mexican border when she lost control of her van on a curve on Thanksgiving, Sheriff Tony Estrada said.

The van vaulted into a canyon and landed 300 feet from the road, he said. The woman, from Rimrock, north of Phoenix, survived the impact but was pinned inside, Estrada said.

Her son, unhurt but disoriented, crawled out to get help and was found about two hours later by Jesus Manuel Cordova, 26, of Magdalena de Kino in the northern Mexican state of Sonora. Unable to pull the mother out, he comforted the boy while they waited for help.

The woman died a short time later.

And, I’m sure that the fellow was well rewarded for his humanity. Handcuffs, jail cell, one way trip back to Mexico … … I just shake my head.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I see the essential humanity of man in evidence here. The Intelligent Designer’s plan at work?

I KNOW that, if we didn’t have the welfare / warfare state, we COULD take the giant trash bag off the Statue of Liberty, and throw open the golden doors. That’s the America I want to live in. The Peaceful One. The Magnanimous One. The Home of the Free and the Land of the Brave.

Sadly, we’re a long way from our “revolutionary” roots. And, that makes me sad.

The inseparable duo that has done almost everything together – even pregnancy – launched a breast milk bank depot, called Milkin’ Mamas Breast Milk Bank, this summer. The business links nursing mothers who want to donate their excess breast milk to mothers with premature or ill babies.

Boy Wonder Can Speak 11 Languages

I won’t get on my soapbox! I’m sure that we can all see how valuable each person is. We have to ensure that everyone has the liberty to be “all they can be” as they see fit. We’re certainly not organized for that now. Hopefully, we can find a way to that “paradise”.
